From Diocese of Beaumont - Sister Marguerite Bartz, the Blessed Sacrament Sister who was found slain in her N.M. convent Nov. 1, will be remembered by Bishop Curtis Guillory, SVD, and the Diocese of Beaumont during a memorial Mass Nov. 21 at 5 p.m. at Infant Jesus, 243 S. A federal judge ruled Nov. 12 that there is probable cause to hold a teenager accused of murdering a nun at her home on the Navajo reservation. Reehahlio Carroll, 18, is accused of the "unlawful killing of a human being with malice aforethought" in the death of 64-year-old Sister Marguerite Bartz, who served at St. Berard Catholic Church in Navajo. Bartz was found face down in a pool of blood in her home Nov. 1.

The body of Sister Marguerite Bartz was laid to rest on Saturday afternoon on a rocky hillside overlooking St. Michael Indian School and overlooking the Navajo Nation where Bartz lived the last decade of her life.

Sister Mary Hottenroth found Sister Marguerite Bartz, "There's no doubt that Marguerite is with the Lord now and I think that's a real consolation." Sister Mary Hottenroth is finding peace now that the FBI arrested a suspect in the murder of her friend, Sister Bartz, who was killed last Saturday night. "We have been praying that they would find him quickly too, so there would not be any further dangers to the community."
